Pellerin heads to the QMJHL

Fredericton Red Wings Forward Alex Pellerin has been called up with the Rouyn Noranda Huskies of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League as an Affiliate Player. Pellerin who has been the Red Wings leading goal scorer last season and this season will join the Huskies once he completes his two-week quarantine.  It is uncertain whether Pellerin will remain with the Huskies for the 2020-2021 season as no time frame on his return to the Wings have been discussed.

Red Wings Head Coach and General Manager Brian Casey is excited for Pellerin’s opportunity, but hard to see him go. “Alex has been given a great opportunity here to get back to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He has grown his game in the last year to earn this opportunity and I am proud of him for that. It is tough when you lose your best forward, but this is the nature of Junior Hockey and Alex deserves this opportunity”.

The native of Varennes, Quebec had scored 17 goals and 35 assists for 52 points in 57 career games with Red Wings.

On behalf of the Red Wings organization we thank Alex and wish him the best of luck in Rouyn Noranda.
