Dawson Breau

The Fredericton Red Wings Acquire Local Stand Out, Defenseman Dawson Breau from the Edmundston Blizzard in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2021 Midget Draft and a 4th round pick in 2022.


Dawson grew up in Fredericton and was part of the FYHA Minor Hockey System. Playing Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget in the AAA Programs. Dawson was a key piece of the Defense the last time Fredericton won a AAA Championship with the Fredericton Bantam 34 Blues winning the Atlantic Bantam Championship in PEI that season. 


Dawson spent three seasons with the Fredericton Midget AAA Caps. He captained the team in his last year, 2019-2020. During his time, he played games with the South Shore Lumberjacks who drafted him in his draft year to the MHL. 


Dawson will be a great addition to the back end of the team. Dawson is a steady right shot offensive d man, who quarterbacked his team’s powerplay during his Midget career.
