The Fredericton Red Wings are excited to announce the signing of their 2020 first round draft pick Brendan MacRitchie for the 2020-2021 season. A native of Sydney. NS, MacRitchie played last season for the Sydney Mitsubishi Rush in the NSMMHL. In 34 games, the 6’2 185-pound MacRitchie registered 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points.
Sydney’s head coach Troy Chiasson say this about MacRitchie: “Brendan has great size and is developing as a player at an incredibly good pace. He is a power forward who can score and will compete every game. I look forward to watching Brenden make the jump to Junior hockey and be a key piece to the Red Wings organization for years to come”.
Head Coach of the Red Wings Brian Casey believes MacRitchie will make an immediate impact in the league. “I am confident Brenden will adjust to Junior hockey quite well. He is very eager to learn and continue his growth as a player. We are extremely fortunate to have him in our organization as he will be a key player to our team’s future”.
