Aquisition, Trade, Release!

The Fredericton Red Wings altered their Maritime Hockey League roster with an acquisition, a trade and the release of a player.

Fredericton sits 2-2 and alone in fourth place in the EastLink North Division after two weeks of play.

Red Wings’ general manager Brent Grant is bringing in six-foot-three defenceman Olle Akermark. Akermark is a native of Sweden, who spent last season with Governor’s Academy, a prep school in Blyfield, MA.

Grant sent forward Andrew Antle to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers in exchange for a seventh round draft pick in the 2021 draft and future considerations. Antle is a native of Corner Brook, NL. He appeared in 48 games last season with the defunct St. Stephen Aces, scoring six goals and adding nine assists for 15 points.He had a goal and two penalty minutes in three games with Fredericton.

Fredericton also released forward Connor McGregor.
The Charlottetown native appeared in three games, scoring a goal and adding 12 penalty minutes. He was a teammate with Antle last season with the Aces, posting three goals and eight points in 48 outings.
